Description
Name: Captain America
Universe: Avengers
Entrance: Cap walks calmly onstage, and holds his left hand high. His trusty shield flies to his hand, and he equips it on his right hand. As this happens, Cap yells “Avengers! Assemble!” then gets ready to fight.
Specials------------------------------
B- Shield Toss- Captain America’s signature move, Cap tosses his shield forward a reasonable distance (about as far as a Lloyd rocket travels), once it reaches the peak distance the shield quickly rebounds back to Cap. The shield deals 9% DMG and decent knockback, and can hit twice, once on its way forward and once on the way back. It deals good DMG and knockback, but while it is traveling Captain America stays in one spot leaving him open to attacks. However, the shield will always come back to Cap. Even if the Villager takes the shield, Cap will still get the shield back and the Villager will have only a copy of the shield.
Side B- Shield Bash- Cap holds his shield forward and sprints a short distance, dealing impressive knockback and DMG to opponents who make contact with Cap while he is performing a shield bash. This attack also will allow Cap to take an additional hit while using the attack.
Up B- Stars and Stripes- Cap drags his shield up above his head and performs a upward corkscrew attack that travels about as high as Mario’s up special. This attack can deal a string of DMG to opponents, and can also deflect projectiles sent at him during the move.
Down B- Fall In- Cap performs an uppercut attack with his shield, if he makes contact with an opponent, he jumps upward and then slams hard into the opponent and into the ground with his shield. Works similar to the Mii Brawler’s Head on Assault, but you have to hit an opponent first to make the move work.
Final Smash- Star Spangled Justice- Cap yells “Get out of here!” and rushes forward with his shield a short distance. If he makes contact with an opponent, Cap will perform a large uppercut with his shield which will shoot the opponent(s) up into the middle of the stage. From there, Cap will deliver a series of strong kicks, punches, and most importantly shield attacks, ramming into the opponents and throwing his shield at them. After a few seconds of barraging the opponent(s), Cap goes above them and says “I’ll show you why I’m an Avenger!” and slams downward with his shield, slamming the opponents down and then delivering knockback. The attack deals 48% DMG in all after the attack is finished.
Standard Moves---------------------------------------------
A – A forward jab with his left fist.
A Hold- A constant barrage of jabs with his left fist.
AAA – A left jab, followed by a horizontal shield slash, finishing with a large slam attack with his shield.
A Left/Right- A quick horizontal slash with his shield.
A Dash- Cap swings his shield to the right with great force, which can send opponents flying forward if their DMG is high enough.
A Up- An upward slash with his shield.
A Down- A kick forward with his right foot.
Smash Left/Right- Cap slams his shield forward, similar to Wario in Brawl this can make Cap not take knockback if he hits an explosive item with it.
Smash Up- Upward acrobatic spin kick attack
Smash Down- Cap drags his shield in a circle, generating sparks on the ground as he does so.
Aerial Neutral- Cap tosses his shield around himself (similar to his ability to do so in Disney Infinity).
Aerial Forward- Forward spin with his whole body, similar to a drill.
Aerial Backward- A backward kick.
Aerial Down- A downward slashing attack with his shield.
Grab- Cap reaches out forward with his left arm.
Standard grab attack- Cap knees the opponent.
Throw forward- A short shield bash attack.
Throw back- Cap tosses the opponent backwards and launches his shield at them.
Throw up- Cap performs an uppercut with his left fist.
Throw down- Cap throws the opponent on the ground and slams into them with his shield.
Taunt/Result Screen---------------------------------------------------
Taunt 1 (Up) – Cap raises his shield high above his head and says “Avengers assemble!”
Taunt 2 (Side) – Captain America salutes and says “Look lively, soldier.”
Taunt 3 (Down) – Cap turns around then and puts his shield on his back, then takes it back off and gets back into fighting position. While doing this, he says “Surrender is your only option.”
Defeat Pose- Captain America claps for the winner humbly, with his shield on his back.
Victory Pose 1- Cap catches his shield and puts it on his back, while saying “There’s a reason that I am an Avenger.”
Victory Pose 2- Cap holds his shield skyward in triumph and says “Not while I’m around!”
Victory Pose 3- Cap slashes the air a few times with his shield, then stands triumphantly with it in front of him, while saying “You never stood a chance, not against me.”

Stage---------------------------------------
S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier: Stage layout that is very similar to the Battleship Halberd where you start in an underground station. After getting onto a mini platform, you travel to the Helicarrier. Once on the Helicarrier, you remain on a flat surface for the remainder of the battle. The background will change from day to night depending on the time of the systems’ internal clock. The actual Helicarrier is a very large stage, there is lots of detail in the background where you can see Avenger characters running to missions, and Quinjets taking off. On the left and right sides of the main part of the stage are giant blade fans that can push players upward. Occasionally, a hatch will appear where Tony Stark in his Iron Man armor will appear, and hover in place. Much like the Flying Man in SSB3DS, if you make contact with Iron Man he will join you for the fight. Iron Man attempts to follow opponents and blast them with his repulsor blasts. These blasts deal a bit of DMG and decent knockback, even better if the opponent’s health is high. You can KO Iron Man by attacking him enough, and when he comes back he will have a slightly different suit, he can come back up to 4 times before he will stop coming back to the battlefield for the fight.
Special Feature-------------------------
Vibranium Shield- Whenever Cap is standing still, he will hold his shield up similar to how Link does. Cap’s shield can absorb minor melee attacks while stationary, and can also deflect some projectiles back towards where they were fired from. Must be stationary however to use his shield like this.
Alternate Costumes- Cap’s last two costumes are based off of Sam Wilson and Bucky’s times as Captain America, along with that both of those costumes would have different voice actors. The moves would remain the same, but some dialogue would change for each, which would be their victory quotes. The victory animations would be the same, just with new dialogue. They would be:
Bucky Captain America:
Victory Pose 1- Cap catches his shield and puts it on his back, while saying “There’s a reason they call me Captain America.”
Victory Pose 2- Cap holds his shield skyward in triumph and says “I’ve had more battle experience than you.”
Victory Pose 3- Cap slashes the air a few times with his shield, then stands triumphantly with it in front of him, while saying “This one’s for you, Steve.”
Sam Wilson Captain America:
Victory Pose 1- Cap catches his shield and puts it on his back, while saying “There’s a new Captain America in town.”
Victory Pose 2- Cap holds his shield skyward in triumph and says “I didn’t even have to assemble the Avengers.”
Victory Pose 3- Cap slashes the air a few times with his shield, then stands triumphantly with it in front of him, while saying “Quite embarrassing yourself and stand down.”
Assist Trophy----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Black Widow- Black Widow joins Captain America, as an assist trophy! When summoned, Black Widow will strike a heroic pose before seeking out opponents to defeat. She is a very quick assist character that will attack opponents with a barrage of martial arts attacks, along with the ability to use her widow bite gauntlets to send out paralyzing shots. She is very quick and her attacks can be devastating, and she stays on the battlefield for a while. However, you can attack her to make her leave the field sooner.
Final Justice!
